David Thompson Brigade to Visit The Pas on May 31

This summer, the David Thompson Brigade will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Thompson Canoe Brigade, commemorating David Thompson's mapping of Western Canada during the fur trade era. The event will feature a re-enactment by Voyageur paddlers canoeing across Western Canada. Their 63-day journey starts in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on May 10 with over 160 participants, and will end 3,600 kilometres later in Old Fort William (near present day Thunder Bay) on the shore of Lake Superior on July 12. The Brigade will stop in The Pas on May 31.
