Paint Lake Provincial Park Interpretive Events

The Paint Lake Provincial Park will host a series of presentations and fun activities for youth and families throughout the 2012 summer season.  See for yourself below!  For more information stop by the Interpretive Office or Campground Office or contact Nathan (Paint Lake Interpreter) at 677-7866.  Please note that all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  All programming is free of charge and open to EVERYONE!

June 11-17: Be Bear Smart- Bears were a problem in Paint Lake last year; come learn how to stay safe in bear country.

June 18-24: Camping 101-
Camping is a fun activity to take part in, join the group on an overnight island excursion. If lack of interest, alternative programming will take place.

June 25-July 1: Canada Day-
The perfect park, the perfect picnic.

July 2-8: Creepy Critters Weekend-
There is millions of creepy critters in Paint Lake. We will learn how important they are to the Boreal Forest.

July 9-15: Fur Trapping Time-
The Challenge to keep trapping a viable economic industry in Manitoba has forced the industry to develop new innovative and humane methods of trapping fur-bearing species.

July 16-22: Canada Parks Day-
Take a trip to Pisew Falls and appreciate what nature has to offer. Plant roots in Paint Lake Park and enjoy the growth of your efforts for years to come.

July 23-29: Wonderful World of Water-
Water is one of our most important resources, which needs to be treated with respect because water provides us with opportunities for recreation and leisure.

July 30-August 5: Bring on the Birds-
Birding is a popular activity for many. Come on down to learn the techniques of birding and how to track sightings with GPS.

August 6-12: Lost and Found. Look to the Skies-
Helpful techniques to help you navigate around the Park.

August 13-19: Get More Fired Up! Helitac Demo-
Wow! Come on down and see the Initial Attack Fire Fighting Crews in action.
