Yan & Marie-Anne’s ManiTour: Bloggers RV across Manitoba

Winnipeg, Manitoba. What’s 36 feet long and hitting some of Manitoba’s top attractions, parks and campgrounds this summer? It’s a cozy traveler RV carrying Yan Dallaire and Marie-Anne Beaudette as they travel around Manitoba, blogging about their unexpected Manitoba experiences. From July 6 to July 23, these fun-loving, bilingual performers will make over 40 stops, hitting such hotspots as Clearwater Lake, Baker's Narrows, Hobbs Resort in Grand Rapids, Riding Mountain National Park, International Peace Garden, Lake Winnipeg’s beaches and Whiteshell Provincial Park. Some of the activities Yan and Marie-Anne plan to tackle include ziplining, geocaching, hiking, biking, boating shopping and eating. Their blog posts and videos detailing their excellent Manitoba adventures can be followed at  “This cooperative effort to promote RV travel in Manitoba is especially fitting as we celebrate Manitoba Homecoming 2010,” said Kevin Walters, Executive Director of Manitoba Homecoming. “Yan and Marie-Anne are carving a path through all regions of our province that everyone, from RV enthusiasts to novices, can follow.” Yan & Marie-Anne’s ManiTour (and in French, la Manitournée de Yan et Marie-Anne) will launch at The Forks on July 3 during the Manitoba Homecoming Concert for Human Rights. The cozy traveler RV will be onsite, along with representatives from Travel Manitoba and GNR Camping World RV Centre. “RVing offers convenience, comfort and mobility – a home away from home while on the road in Manitoba,” said Kevin Betzold, General Manager of GNR Camping World RV Centre.  Four weekly “postcards” of Yan and Marie-Anne’s travels can be made available for publication and on-the-road media interviews can be scheduled.   Travel Manitoba is partnering with GNR Camping World RV Centre, Manitoba Homecoming 2010, Conseil de développement économique des municipalités bilingues du Manitoba (CDEM), the Manitoba Tourism Secretariat, the Rural Tourism Associations of Manitoba and Société Franco-Manitobaine  to send Yan and Marie-Anne on this RV tour of Manitoba, encouraging other Manitobans to follow suit.
