Our Communities

Pikwitonei, Manitoba is a tiny and charming community accessible only by rail, boat and winter road. The Tolko forestry road and winter roads link the community to the all-weather road network for about six to eight weeks every January and February.

Trapping is a vital economic activity. Commercial fishers harvest on six nearby lakes and deliver fish to the Wabowden fish station. Wild rice has been planted in some of the surrounding area.

Pikwitonei School is operated by Frontier School Division and is staffed by two teachers.
